Here’s a package on Oregon wine country for About.com that required a great deal of research over the course of several visits. How I suffer for my readers…
- Oregon Wine Country: An Overview. A look at the state’s wine regions — including the Columbia Gorge, Eastern Oregon and Southern Oregon. (Pictured above.) Yes, there’s sipping and swirling beyond the Willamette Valley!
- But yes, there is an awful lot in the Willamette Valley, so I expanded my previous coverage with this supplement on recommended tasting rooms and other culinary attractions.
- I also created this guide to Hood River area wineries. Let’s just admit that describing any wine country as “beautiful” is stating the obvious — vineyards tend to spruce up a landscape, assuming it needed it in the first place. But the scenery here is especially dramatic, and there are additional attractions, like The Fruit Loop (not a cereal), and two up-and-coming towns nearby, White Salmon, Washington and The Dalles, Oregon.
